Parade Of Lights
Parade Of Lights
Best known for the title track to their 2015 debut Astralwerks album, “Feeling Electric,” which was featured in EA Sports’ FIFA 16 game, Los Angeles-based alt-electro band Parade of Lights have toured extensively throughout the US as a headliner and supporting act for artists such as Imagine Dragons, X Ambassadors, Awolnation, and Fitz & The Tantrums. Their song “Golden” from the album has been streamed more than 6 million times on Spotify and featured in television campaigns for the Super Bowl, Oscars, and Grammys.
Formed in 2010 by singer/guitarist Ryan Daly, drummer Anthony Improgo and bassist Randy Schulte, PoL added keyboardist Michelle Ashley in 2013 and signed with Astralwerks later that year after their independent single “We’re the Kids” garnered top 10 spins at SiriusXM’s Alt Nation.
Self-proclaimed “360 Artists,” Parade of Lights write and produce their songs; produce their lyric videos and social video content; and do their own graphic design both online and for merchandise. The band has also done remixes for well-known artists like The Kooks, Grizfolk and Lady Antebellum.
Currently, PoL are in the studio working on their second full length album. It will be their fourth release following “Feeling Electric,” 2014’s “Golden” EP and their debut 2012 independent EP “Born to Live, Born to Love.”

Bird And The War
Bird And The War
BIRD & THE WAR IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL POST-ROCK BAND. BY ARCHITECTING A COLORFUL SONIC BLEND OF ELECTRONICA, AMBIENT, SHOEGAZE AND MORE, THEY’VE CREATED AN UNDENIABLY ORIGINAL, CINEMATIC, AND EVEN REVOLUTIONARY FORCE IN THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SCENE. LAYERING INNOVATIVE TEXTURES AND TONES ONTO THE FAMILIAR AESTHETICS OF BANDS LIKE BON IVER, THE NATIONAL, AND EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY, B&TW OFFERS AN IMPRESSIONISTIC COMPILATION OF AUTHENTICITY, EMOTION AND QUIET AGGRESSION— MAKING THEM A UNIQUE VOICE IN THE CONTEMPORARY ALT SOUNDSCAPE.

YOU CAN UNLOCK THE FULL, SYMPHONIC ARTISTRY OF B&TW ON THEIR SELF-TITLED E.P. FROM THE ALMOST-MEDITATIVE FIRST TRACK, “LOCK & KEY,” SONGWRITER AND FRONTMAN CHRIS JAMES BUILDS A SONIC STRUCTURE AROUND THE LISTENER, BRICK BY BRICK, BEFORE THE SONG COLLAPSES BACK INTO MINIMALISM FOLLOWED BY THE DRIVEN, YET AMBITIOUS “STONE HEART” TRANSITIONING SEAMLESSLY INTO THE LEONARD COHEN-ESQUE TRACK “BONE & FLESH,” WHICH IS NOTABLE FOR ITS PENSIVE REFLECTION. “ADOBE” IS THE STRAIGHTEST, MOST POP-SENSIBLE SONG ON THE ALBUM, BUILT ON A THREE-CHORD STRUCTURE. HOWEVER, BY “ADOBE’S” END, B&TW SLIPS IN A SERIES OF MULTI-LAYERED AND IMPRESSIONISTIC VOCALS AND GUITARS. AND SAVING THE BEST FOR LAST, “LOCHS & LAKES” DRIVES THE LISTENER WITH A SERIES OF DYNAMIC GEAR SHIFTS SPLICED WITH AN ASTUTE USE OF TECHNOLOGY VIA AUTO-TUNE.

MUCH OF CALIFORNIA HAS ALREADY DISCOVERED BIRD & THE WAR, FROM THE NORCAL CLUB SCENE (SAN FRANCISCO’S HOTEL UTAH), TO SOCAL’S FINEST VENUES (ANAHEIM’S HOUSE OF BLUES, THE CONSTELLATION ROOM, HOLLYWOOD’S ON THE ROX AND AVALON BARDOT, DOWNTOWN L.A.’S BODEGA CALIFAS). THEY’VE PARTNERED WITH ORANGE COUNTY PRODUCER// RECORDING ENGINEER JOSHUA P. BROOKS, ACCLAIMED SOCAL VIDEO ARTISTS LITTLE FELLA MEDIA, AND ARE CURRENTLY SIGNED WITH LOS ANGELES-BASED MUSIC PUBLISHERS RIPTIDE MUSIC GROUP.

BUT TO LABEL B&TW A CALIFORNIA BAND IS INSUFFICIENT. WITH THE UPCOMING RELEASE OF THEIR FULL LENGTH ALBUM 'R H E T O R I C', TO THE WIDESPREAD POPULARITY THEY’VE FOUND ON THE INTERNET, THIS IS A BAND WHOSE REACH—LIKE THEIR SOUND—DEFIES CONVENTIONAL BOUNDARIES. MUSIC WEBSITES HAVE GIVEN EXTENSIVE NOTICE TO B&TW’S UP-AND-COMING SOUND, WHICH EXAMINER CALLED “MUSICAL BLOWS WITH GENTLE REPOSE, SIMULTANEOUSLY EXPOSING THEIR SOFT UNDERBELLY TO THE LISTENER.” BLACK ON THE CANVAS HAS DECLARED: “BIRD & THE WAR TAKE FLIGHT AND CLIMB ABOVE THE PACK. THIS BAND STANDS OUT WITH AN ORIGINAL SOUND THAT GRABS YOUR ATTENTION FAST AND MAKES A LASTING IMPRESSION.”

THE FUTURE IS NOW FOR THE SOCAL DUO, AND THEIR MUSICAL VISION IS HEARTBREAKING, EMOTIONAL AND ARRESTING TO THE LISTENER. DON’T BE SURPRISED IF YOU HEAR BIRD & THE WAR ON LOCAL RADIO, ON YOUR FAVORITE MUSIC APP, OR ON A MOVIE SOUNDTRACK. MEET THE AMBIENT INDIE-ROCK BAND THAT’S POISED TO RECONFIGURE MODERN ALTERNATIVE MUSIC FOR YEARS TO COME.
